Winter keeps making these little cameo appearances—snow one day, gone the next—and every time it retreats, I feel that familiar itch for warmer days. I’ve realized that forcing myself onto the slopes in “meh” conditions just isn’t in the cards for me this year. Who knew? Instead, I’ve been drifting toward softer, frillier things and daydreaming about long, sun-soaked days. The kind where I can work straight through and the sun still beats me to the finish line.
With that in mind, I decided to get a head start on the season. I found a couple of dresses that will pair beautifully with a brand-new set of boots (because honestly, when have any of us ever had enough boots?). Even my old faithful pair—the ones that feel like part of who I am—will do the trick. You know that feeling when you slip them on and suddenly feel a little more alive? Those ones.
I have plenty of time to hunt down the perfect summer dresses for the shop this year, so I’m not letting myself feel guilty that one of my favorites only had a single dress left. There will be more lovely options—just as charming, just as satisfying and I will be sure they are up and ready coming in March.
